Moby’s Activism Tattoos And New Protest Song

Moby has not only been a vegan for more than 30 years but he is also a fierce animal rights activist. This is most obviously portrayed by some of his recent tattoos; one is VEGAN FOR LIFE on the side of his neck, another is ANIMAL RIGHTS in large font on both arms and finally there is a faint VX on the side of his face.

In a recent Instagram post Moby explains his tattoos to the public:

“Oh, and I’ve been asked about the VX by my eye; V is for vegan, X is for straight edge. Straight edge because I simply can’t be a good activist if i’m lying in bed sick & hungover until 5pm every day..and of course vegan because i care about animals, human health, climate change, rainforest deforestation, workers rights, water use, famine, and all of the other horrifying things that are the result of using animals for food.”

Moby’s latest song is a dangerously catchy protest tune featuring on vocals none other than D.H. Peligro from Dead Kennedys. All proceeds from the single go to animal rights organisations. Checking out Moby’s Instagram page is a fascinating look into his activism and as for the video itself you can watch that banging new song below.

A Feel Good, Vegan, Quarantine HipHop Party

How does this sound for a Saturday night whilst in quarantine: Free music, free e-book on healthy living, free workout videos and vegan recipes? We here at Shouts think that sounds like a date!

This lockdown event is created by Croatian-American rapper and animal rights activist IFEEL, whom we interviewed last September. IFEEL uses his talent as a rapper as a voice for the voiceless and regularly performs his music at animal rights events.

Many artists have been performing from their own homes during these extraordinary times. Perhaps it is a positive aspect of this terrible moment that creative people, through the help of the internet, can still reach out and positively affect people around the world.

IFEEL will perform much of his most popular protest music and in between talk about how to live a healthy, and cruelty free, lifestyle. If you can’t attend this online event this Saturday you can always check out his latest album Let’s Talk About It which came out at the end of 2018.

Flaex And Flo Hillen Present: Vegan Music Tour 2020

Sometimes an artists takes it upon themselves to give voice to the voiceless. Those without a voice are sometimes furry, sometimes not, sometimes on four legs, and sometimes not.

Sometimes, a whole group of artists come together to collectively lend their voices to those who have none. Flaex and Flo Hillen have made such a tour in the new year and its something you don’t want to miss if you like great music and animal rights activism.

Supporting acts include IFEEL (who we interviewed not too long ago), Andy Jones and Queen V.

Check out these amazing artists who are not only brilliant at what they do but also use their voices responsibly.

Music, after all, is utterly tied to activism.
