Musician And Animal Activist, Inanna, Releases A Single Protesting Factory Farming

Music, environmental protection, animal rights and, belly dancing. These are some of the things Inanna brings to the world on a daily basis. Now the singer and activist has released a music video to ‘The Machine’, off of her recently released album, ‘Acrotopia‘.

The mostly black and white video shows Inanna weaving through factory machines, and dubious-looking workers, in a blood-red colored dress, all the while conveying a message about the rights of animals.

We can all have different opinions about eating other animals but there are sensible, ethical ways of doing things and then there is factory farming. The latter is nothing but torture and horror that even causes trauma to the workers/murderers not to mention the environmental effects such as deforestation, pollution, and the decline of smaller farms and rural communities.

“I firmly believe that all forms of art have an incredible capacity to drive change and create awareness, even about difficult issues such as animal exploitation. This video, inspired by some of my favorite movies of the silent era, wants to be an allegorical representation of the treatment of animals in factory farms and forests burnt by human activity. It is a dark video for a dark and emotional song, but it also includes a message of hope and a colorful fragment where we can catch a glimpse of a possible future where humans and animals live and thrive together. Both song and video want to witness what happens, but they also want to celebrate life and individuality of all Earthlings”

Soya The Cow Uses The Biggest Stage Of Her Career To Speak Up For Animals

One of the most unique protest musicians out there, Soya The Cow, recently performed at the largest stage of her career. This is all the more impressive seeing how she uses every stage, small or big, to act as a voice for animal rights. It is definitely not everyday that an event as big as The Voice (Germany) gets to hear about animal liberation.

At the end of the song Soya chose to cover the judges do their traditional turnaround and ask her a few questions. Her response and the way she used this gigantic platform can be read below in English:

“Hi, I’m Soya the Cow – from Switzerland. I dress up as a cow to show that everything could be different.

For many years I have been preoccupied with animals and the relationships between humans and other animals. And right now, as we stand and sit here, billions and billions of non-human animals are locked up, mostly under miserable circumstances.

I want to show that every single one of these animals is an individual personality, with their own needs and desires, with friendships and curiosity. We would never allow to treat a dog or a cat in the same way as we treat a cow or a chicken.”

Since we interviewed Soya last year she has released her debut album, a fantastic pop piece titled ‘Purple Grass‘, where her love for all creatures, humans and animals, shines through in her unique style of music composition.

Moby’s Activism Tattoos And New Protest Song

Moby has not only been a vegan for more than 30 years but he is also a fierce animal rights activist. This is most obviously portrayed by some of his recent tattoos; one is VEGAN FOR LIFE on the side of his neck, another is ANIMAL RIGHTS in large font on both arms and finally there is a faint VX on the side of his face.

In a recent Instagram post Moby explains his tattoos to the public:

“Oh, and I’ve been asked about the VX by my eye; V is for vegan, X is for straight edge. Straight edge because I simply can’t be a good activist if i’m lying in bed sick & hungover until 5pm every day..and of course vegan because i care about animals, human health, climate change, rainforest deforestation, workers rights, water use, famine, and all of the other horrifying things that are the result of using animals for food.”

Moby’s latest song is a dangerously catchy protest tune featuring on vocals none other than D.H. Peligro from Dead Kennedys. All proceeds from the single go to animal rights organisations. Checking out Moby’s Instagram page is a fascinating look into his activism and as for the video itself you can watch that banging new song below.
